Hey all. First time, long time.
I’ve been listening to plenty of Tea Leaf Green in advance of seeing two shows this weekend and figured I’d share something from one of my all time favorites — TLG’s infamous “RV Set” from High Sierra 2005.
This Asphalt Funk is just over 12 minutes long, and though it takes about three of them to pick up, once it does it’s a real delight. Plus it features the guitar stylings of Sean Leahy which add a little something something.
Key in on some furious jam segments at the 6 and 11 minute marks. And there’s even a little Phish tease from Josh during the banter at the end.

10.27.05 - House Of Blues, San Diego, CAHere’s a great second set opening medley from moe. during their Fall 2005 tour. While the band has been on an indefinite hiatus, they’re returning to play at least a few shows in 2009, including a small Northeast run at the end of March. They’re also confirmed to headline the festival they pretty much created, Summercamp, in Chillicothe, IL May 22-23.

Continuing with our groove-oriented theme from earlier, here’s Soulive performing at the 2005 Stockholm Jazz Festival, one of the premier festivals of its kind in the world. Soulive is one of those bands that I love to see at a festival. They’ll get you into that groove mindset and have you dancing all afternoon.

Our name, The Butter Room, references an small, low-lit room in a Virginia Tech Fraternity with nothing but a few benches and tables. You go there to get away from all distractions and have a conversation, which is what we want to foster here: a place where you can get away from all the distractions of life to enjoy and discuss live music.
