Three Days - Jane’s Addiction

The City Square, Milan, ItalyJane’s Addiction made the scene in V.B. right away in 1987. By the time Nothing’s Shocking came out in summer of ‘88 Jane’s had permanent spot in the soundtrack of our lives…the first summer after high school graduation. Jane’s Addiction rocked our worlds straight up. In October of 88 they played the Boathouse, opening up for Iggy Pop. Fast-forward two years into college and Ritual de lo Habitual comes out. By this time Jane’s Addiction was platinum and on the radio and MTV. But starting at track 6 on the album is this masterpiece that would not be played much on the radio or MTV. No time for 10:48 JAMS on those media. Three Days is my all-time favorite Jane’s song.

What is The Butter Room?
The Butter Room was built to spread and discuss live music. The contributors of this site all volunteer their time to provide the content. We do this as a labor of love. Our name, The Butter Room, references an small, low-lit room in a Virginia Tech Fraternity with nothing but a few benches and tables. You go there to get away from all distractions and have a conversation, which is what we want to foster here: a place where you can get away from all the distractions of life to enjoy and discuss live music.
