When I got home today, Walnut Creek was waiting for me in the mailbox. We’ve plastered highlights from the 7.22.97 show over the past few weeks in anticipation of the release of the new Phish DVD. So instead of posting another (just buy the friggin’ DVD already!) my Phish pick this week is from the night before. This is one of my favorite Gins of all time. Setlist -

My wedding anniversary falls in June, and so does several other anniversaries of shows I attended. I’ll always try to recognize significant year anniversaries when I remember.
The first is the Dead at the Virginia Beach Amphitheater, 5 years ago tonight. This was my second “miracle” show. I stumbled upon an offer for free tickets on rec.music.gdead, but had no idea that the seats were in the 2nd row. What a gift.

What is The Butter Room?
The Butter Room was built to spread and discuss live music. The contributors of this site all volunteer their time to provide the content. We do this as a labor of love. Our name, The Butter Room, references an small, low-lit room in a Virginia Tech Fraternity with nothing but a few benches and tables. You go there to get away from all distractions and have a conversation, which is what we want to foster here: a place where you can get away from all the distractions of life to enjoy and discuss live music.
