In Memory of Elizabeth Reed - The McLovins (The Allman Brothers cover)
On first look, a group of high school kids playing a church. Upon listening though, these guys bring the southern heat with a truly legitimate rendition of the classic Allman’s tune. If you find it hard to take seriously, minimize your browser, and what you get is a spot on cover with some wailing guitar played by a true prodigy.
If for nothing else, one has to have a lot of respect a group of highschool kids that truthfully and passionately play music that they were too young (or not even alive) to hear, and that most their age would struggle to understand.
Could the McLovins be the next big thing? All I know is that they seem to be starting on a similar road to success that many bands (Phish comes to mind) have followed.
The McLovins are:
33.3% Jeff (Axlovin)
33.3% Jason (Basslovin)
33.3% Jake (Drumlovin)

In Memory of Elizabeth Reed
The guitar playing is very good, but the vocals could use some work.
OMG McLovin’s. Can’t...never thought I’d...15 year olds play...

The Butter Room was built to spread and discuss live music. The contributors of this site all volunteer their time to provide the content. We do this as a labor of love. Our name, The Butter Room, references an small, low-lit room in a Virginia Tech Fraternity with nothing but a few benches and tables. You go there to get away from all distractions and have a conversation, which is what we want to foster here: a place where you can get away from all the distractions of life to enjoy and discuss live music.
